I went here for the Sunday brunch. I made a reservation online because I didn't know if the restaurant will be packed for brunch, and it was a good thing I did. The staff was very friendly and welcoming--our waitress was very funny and made the experience even better. The Sunday brunch is served on the table in courses, and you can reorder throughout the meal. However, you cannot order what you want off the brunch menu at first, as you are served everything. It was a great way to try everything. The naan was very fresh and warm every time it was served to the table. The entrees (butter chicken and chicken tikka) were my favorite part of the meal. However, the tandoori platter was cold. We also received a glass of champagne with our dessert. This is a great Sunday brunch spot, and definitely worth the price.

Mynt is a new addition to Hannibal Square (in the former Fresh space). It's a sister restaurant to Saffron in Dr. Phillips, with some similarities between the menus. There are a couple of tables on the patio and downstairs, a semiprivate dining area and several tables upstairs, and an upstairs bar. There are several Indian beers on the menu, though only Taj Mahal was available when we visited. We started with delicious vegetable samosas - elegantly presented - then followed with dal maharani (lentils) and saagh paneer (spinach puree/cheese) and a copious pile of garlic naan for our main course. Saagh paneer was good, and the dal maharani was spicy and excellent. For dessert, they have some unique selections - we shared the triple homemade kulfi (Indian ice cream, of sorts) and the day's flavors were mango, strawberry and pistachio. Our check was around $70, quite reasonable for Winter Park dining - we'll be back for sure.

The best Indian food I've had in Orlando. Being Indian myself, I'm really picky about trying the cuisine outside of my home. That's because in my experience, it's never really an "experience". Paper placemats, bad service, cliché decór, and dishes that look and taste the same regardless of where you go. Mynt is a diamond in a sea of cubic zirconias. Great ambiance, exceptional customer service, and wonderfully prepared, authentic dishes! Every appetizer that was brought out not only made our mouths water, but intrigued our eyes. From the lamb samosas to the chicken kabobs, you can't go wrong. My main course was the lamb roganjosh, which is making my stomach growl as I type. I definitely can't wait to go back and try literally everything on the menu. Thank you Mynt, for reviving my hope in the Indian dining experience!

One of the best indian resteraunts in orlando. I've had them all and this one is definitely one of the best. Huge menu selections and very nice ambiance. We had butter chicken and a lamb dish as entrees, lamb somosas for an appetizer, and coconut sufflae for desert. The food was a 5 out of 5. The service was a 5 out 5. I'll definitely be going back to try more of the menu.

We really loved Mynt! First of all, it makes a huge difference to have such an attentive and friendly staff. Seriously the best service we have had! They made us feel welcomed and helped with recommending some amazing dishes. On top of that, the food was spectacular. I've never really had Indian food before and it was so unique and flavorful! We heard that they also have a wonderful brunch and will definitely be returning for that!!! A must go!!!

the food here is delicious, tastes freshly made and is actually spicy (finally!). it is a smaller space so if you're coming in a large group be aware that it might be difficult to find seating if they are busy. I only gave four stars bc I felt the service was subpar. our server seemed very disinterested and borderline annoyed with us and wasn't very welcoming. the food was worth it though so I would still come back!

In a neighborhood full of French and Italian restaurants it's refreshing to see an Indian restaurant enter the scene. The owners of Saffron on restaurant row recently opened this well decorated restaurant in the former Fresh space in Hannibal square. The food was delightful and the highly knowledgable staff was attentive and helpful. Try the Lamb Pasada with a side of Roti. The food is worth the trip.

Must try the experience ! A very warm and relaxing atmosphere. Excellent food with a nice quantity of vegetation options. Extremely nice and friendly service. Welcome Mynt to Winter Park. So excited you are here!!!!

Went to check Mynt out last Saturday night after hearing about it from Zagat. Overall a great experience. I'm still getting familiar with Indian food so we relied on our server for recommendations. Amanda did us right. We ended up ordering the Almond Tikki Chat to start and then Saagh Paneer and Baghare Baigan (baby eggplants) for entrees. All were fresh, pretty and delicious. We went 'hot' for the spice level, which had a kick, but will probably graduate to 'Indian hot' next time. The tables outside were great and put you in the middle of Hannibal Square. Will definitely be coming back.

An excellent variety of Indian food from both north and south India served in a very charming Winter Park location. I have lived and worked in India and this is some of the best authentic and nuanced flavored Indian food I have had anywhere in Florida. The lunch choices are an excellent way to sample Mynt and provides more than enough food for any appetite. The dinner menu is extensive and worth the effort. We have eaten there multiple times and brought our friends.

Excellent food and service! Will definitely be back! Only thing I can see that needs a little improvement is the wine list. I would love to see a larger list of wines by the glass.

We have waited so long to have a fabulous, trendy, high end - yet AFFORDABLE Indian restaurant in the Winter Park area. It is about time Orlando acclimated to the wonderful flavors of Indian cuisine and this restaurant is the biz!!!!! Their sauces are full bodied, their samoosas are gorgeous, as is the lentil soup, the naan bread and everything else that we tried. We will be back!!!!!!

My wife and I are long-time residents of Winter Park and love Indian food so we really want Mynt to succeed. We finally were able to have dinner at Mynt on a Wednesday evening. It was a quiet evening--only three other tables were occupied the whole time we were there. My wife and I shared an appetizer of lamb samosa. The two large pieces were flavorful, but their insides were cold. For entrees we had lamb kabob and chicken tandoori along with an order of garlic naan. The naan was really tasty and my wife liked the kabobs. However, the chicken tandoori had issues. First, the menu described this dish as composed of Cornish hen; however I got two chicken breasts and two legs from a full-sized chicken. No way these were from Cornish hens. Also, the chicken was ok tasting, but it lacked presentation (one lemon garnish and no onions). Mynt was out of two of the imported beers I ordered, but they did have Kingfisher beer which was brought to me warm. When I asked about this, the server apologized by saying that the bottle was taken from the front of the fridge rather than the back. ??xx!!?? Overall, Mynt had a comfortable, chic atmosphere and the servers were attentive (other than the beer service). However, the quality of the food doesn't merit the high prices. My wife and I will stick to other Indian restaurants in the Orlando area.

not too much to say about Mynt yet but everything i can say is all positive. maybe the one rub is that this is the past space of an excellent rest. called Fresh. Mynt has totally transformed the space, all white, very clean, sparse but welcoming. cool chairs. i've gone once so far and will go back with company, prob not so amazing that i'd go by myself. food is Indian and a cut above most of the Indian i've had in the past. the flavors are very complex yet restrained , spices are the stars of this movie fer sure. my one complaint was the servers, not bad but not special and def all male. no coffee but i guess Indians don't Starbuck so.... in closing- great addition to Winter Park, different but smart enough to fit in.

This was my first experience with Indian food. I had always wanted to try Indian food but never had the opportunity to try it so when my best friend was in town she suggested we try this place. Since the two girlfriends I went with were Indian food veterans I let them do the ordering while I just sat back and drank my wine (they have their own glasses). The service was excellent!! Our server was extremely helpful and the food was really good as well! I have nothing to compare this with so I'm hoping that it is authentic, because I really do appreciate true authentic flavors over more fusion Americanized flavors. We had a tandoori sampler which was a meal but we ate like an appetizer. We also had watermelon salad and the chicken curry. Oh their bread that you order separate and dip in the curry was really awesome we got the garlic one! The experience at this restaurant really was a great one and I can't wait to try more Indian food!!

I have been waiting for an upscale Indian restaurant that I could rate more highly than any of the Indian restaurants on OBT. Well, I have finally found it. Mynt is the real deal. First, the service is exceptional--and that is always make or break for me. They know the menu really well, make helpful recommendations, and bring you frequent fresh silverware. Thank God (why can't Orlando restaurants get this silverware thing right?). The food was exceptional, from the minute we sat down. The sauces were terrific. The tandoori was really highly unusually good-not just juicy but also really beautifully seasoned. Everything was great, and the prices were reasonable, especially considering the location and the service. We are going back on Saturday, when I will pay more attention and write a more extended review. But so far: terrific.

5 stars because I just can't find anything I didn't like about this lunch! At first I saw that lunch options that were non-vegetarian were $11. THEN I realized that that price includes amazing jasmine rice, the entree you picked, soup, naan, a samosa starter, and a dessert! What a deal! All of this came in stacked metal plates (with the exception of dessert which came after the meal) First I had the Mulligatawny soup- a traditional Indian soup with yellow lentils and vegetables. This alone is usually $6 but not at lunch! I stressed to the server that I am not able to handle much spice and thankfully the soup wasn't spicy. It was a reasonable portion for so many courses and was flavorful and pleasant. The rice was DIVINE! I could have eaten this alone. But luckily I also had the Murgh Tikka Masala and really enjoyed it! Very tender chicken with tons of sauce to mix with the rice. The samosa was flaky and delicious, though I'm a spice wimp. The sauces it came with were sooooooo good! One was tamarind and the other was something green that I couldn't stop eating. Finally, the dessert was a rice pudding in a small bowl that was just the right bit of sweetness to end the meal. Pro-tip: get the Mango Lasi!!! Especially if you're afraid of spice because it helps calm the spice. Mynt has a new fan!! Can't wait to return for dinner!

I went to Mynt for a friend's birthday brunch. Wee were seated upstairs in a more private section that had ample space for a large party. The vibe and food were great. It was ample and delicious food. Highly recommend for a change in a conventional brunch. Great service and most importantly...clean

I would strongly advice people to avoid this poorly run establishment. I am a vegetarian and they accidentally served me a dish with chicken. Even after I double checked they ensured me it was vegetarian. Thanks to their incompetence I ended up accidentally eating it. The staff wasn't genuine and tried to compensate me with a free entree. They made no legitimate effort to rectify the situation. They did not call the manager. When we said we are leaving they simply said okay Frankly the free entree was just insulting as I informed them I was vegetarian for religions reasons. As an indian I am disappointed by this mismanaged restaurant. A real indian fine dining restaurant or any other cuisine wouldn't have acted in such an insensitive manner. They would have handled the situation with more finesse. I have had this happen to me in other fine dining restaurants and they all received the situation in an appropriate manner. There is no excuse for servers to claim to know a dish when they have no idea They ruined a perfectly good night for my partner and I. So save yourself the trouble and skip this joint

I had a dinner reservation at Mynt recently and it was one of the best Indian meals I've ever had in my life. The restaurant is a good size with upstairs and downstairs seating. Not huge but not cramped. I had the buttered chicken and my wife had the Prawn Masala and both were super flavorful, well cooked and delicious. The prawn was cooked to peffect temperature and the buttered chicken sauce was full of amazing flavored. If you like Indian food you must check it out. The garlic naan is also a must and it's made from scratch in house. We will be back!

I chanced upon this restaurant while I was in the Winter Park area with my husband. Mynt is located in a quaint little neighborhood. We came for lunch. The lunch menu is limited but has all the popular Indian dishes. Each entree comes with an appetizer, naan, rice, dal and dessert. The dishes are served in a tiffin carrier which I thought was unique. The prices were extremely reasonable in the range of $10 - $15. I had paneer makhanwala and my husband had murgh laziz. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The restaurant was more than adequately staffed and the waiters were extremely friendly.

I have been obsessed with Indian food as of late and Mynt held up to all of the reviews! The lamb was perfection and fell apart in my mouth. The sauces and chutneys were divine, rich, creamy, savory. Simply wonderful! We were greeted right away as we entered and the entire staff was very warm and friendly. The servers did not hesitate or even seem disgruntled to reseat us after asking to move. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and accommodating through out the meal. Restaurant owner Sunny, even talked with us and recommended other items to pair with our meal. The prices were a bit high, but definitely worth it for the flavor, quality, and quantity of food provided. I definitely will be coming back...with friends!

You should go to Sunday brunch here. It's an unlimited table-side buffet with 5 courses and a glass of champagne. $16. Additional champagne is $2/glass. The food was delicious (according to my relatively unrefined white guy palate). I have no idea what goes on in this place the rest of the week, but my first Sunday brunch here won't be my last.

  • Tim P.

I tried this place with a friend for Sunday brunch buffet today and it was excellent. How can you go wrong with $16 for brunch buffet including a glass of champagne? Champagne refillls are only $2 each. The brunch menu is selected by the chef each week and is served in courses (including a soup, then a couple of appetizers, several main dish entrees accompanied by rice and naan bread, and then a couple of desserts.) All of the food was delicious! It was my first-ever time trying Indian food and I truly enjoyed everything I sampled. The staff was very warm and friendly. The hostess, Amanda, and our server, Nareesh, were both incredibly attentive and helpful. They both deserve 5 stars each! Needless to say I will be back again many times in the future for brunch and also to experience the regular menu during dinner hours.

Was very skeptical going to Mynt but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food. Usually high end indian restaurants taste is very different...but Mynt has authentic Indian food taste. The appetizers were served in a fancy way...the quantity is not much but the taste was awesome. We ordered Kofta Lollipop, Utthapam Sliders and Pani Puri. In the main course Bhagare Baingan just reminded me my mothers dish. It was made typically maharashtrian style. I will definitely recommend this place for Indians and non Indians.

We made a last minute decision to try this place...what a great decision!! Is in a nice little neighborhood. Restaurant is cozy and was very clean. They also have sidewalk seating. We were there at just after 5pm and were seated right away w/o a reservation. Service was very friendly and attentive with great input for my mother, who had never had any type of Indian cuisine. Everything was delicious! I was a bit disappointed that they do not have any type of vegetarian korma on the dinner menu but the other options were still fantastic. Can't wait to come back again!

While the service left much to be desired, the food was great. Met a friend here on Saturday evening for dinner & there was a private event upstairs so diners were only seated on the lower level which is very tight. The hostess gave away our table after initially promising to seat us next & our appetizer order came out wrong causing a major delay in receiving food. However, the food was amazing & the owner was apologetic at the close of the meal. Will definitely give them another try.

A nice place but expensive for what they serve. Had a good take on certain items like paani poori but the portions are small. We did have a good time there though. Service was good, but a tad too assiduous. They didn't charge corkage fee which was good. As a tip order the Goan shrimp dish that was flavorful and good. All the breads like roti and naan are $5 so on the high side.

MYNT is a most welcome additiion to the Winter Park dining scene. The small but chic restaurant serves up some of the best of Indian cuisiine and does so with eye-popping presentations. From the warm greeting on our arrival to the smart service to the food - our experience was flawless..I should mention that all of this comes at a price - but with no complaints from me...

Mynt is fabulous. I loved it here. The dishes are really tasty, though I'd advise that you stay away from the Kofta Lollipops appetizer (too spicy and otherwise not that good). The sea bass is delicious, the crispy papadum is wonderful, so many things here are delicious. I wish I could eat here more often. A lovely place, with great food and great service.

Have been here a couple of times, and both lunch and dinner were really great. The physical size of the restaurant is a bit small and feels cramped, and that is one negative. But the food is great, the service is very friendly and quick, and the prices are very reasonable for what is clearly the best Indian fare (in my view) in the northern suburbs of Orlando. Keep it up!

This place is very small, but it sort of adds to the charm of it all. However, I recommend making a reservation, especially if it is on a busy weekend evening. Our waiter looked less than thrilled to be there, which made me sad, because we were celebrating an event and we were really nice to him. the upside is that the food is delicious, and as a fan of Indian food, I personally think they have the best garlic naan I have had yet. It was pretty pricey though, and with two drinks each and one entree and 2 appetizers we spent way over $100, but what do you expect from dining in that neighborhood, so its all good. It is nice for a quaint evening, but the food is just as good as Tamarind, and tamarind is much cheaper, yet much much busier and crowded. Overall the food was great, and their wine was very good as well, and you definitely can't beat the location. I'm excited that this place is here! I just hope that next time we have a server who smiles at least once!

I've been in search for amazing Indian in Orlando and now I have finally found it. We (my husband and I) had a reservation here on a Saturday night. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by the pleasant aroma of rich Indian spices. A staff member quickly approached us and we were seated. We started with the vegetable samosas which had just the right amount of heat. The butter chicken is some of the best I've ever had! The portions are very generous. We had the prawn masala as well which had 6 large prawns that were perfectly cooked. The service was great. The staff was very kind, friendly and efficient. I can't wait to come back again and try the rest of the menu!

For an Indian person, Indian food is always compared to a high standard. So when I came here, I was hoping that their food was amazing. I was definitely not disappointed. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, paneer makhani, and rogan josh. Since the party that I was dining with had varying levels of spiciness, we agreed to a medium level. Everything was absolutely delicious. The papad served as an appetizer was also delicious with the chutneys. The customer service was great. They came to check up on us quite often and refilled our waters whenever they were half-full. The only downside was that the restaurant wasn't too busy, but they sat us right under a leaking vent which was very uncomfortable for the person sitting right underneath. Great restaurant and definitely worth coming back to!

  • Lani G.

Again, nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. The brunch is delicious and they keep bringing more food out. You like something and want more? No problem, they are happy to bring more. The staff are all wonderful - super friendly and attentive.

  • Kendra Y.

The food was YUM-tastic! The chef even came out to check on us and to apologize for the heat. Heck, I wasn't surprised we were all warm because that food was so good it was SIZZL'N! The location is awesome, across the street from the Winter Park Dexters & right down the street from Park Ave shopping & dining. Their branding is so cute and modern! Loved the decor inside paired with the ambient lighting: match made in contemporary-romance heaven. The only downside is the seating arrangements. I understand they have to maximize the number of seats in order to make a profit but I could barely get in or out of my seat, & I'm pretty small. I felt bad for my husband, he seemed a little squished. Prices are fair for the quality and location. I would have liked to see some sort of family style, pick 5-6 items for a price cut type deal, but the food was great so I can't complain. Overall a great dining experience!

We just moved into town and wanted to explore our new downtown. We bought a Groupon for 50$ worth of dinner for two (date night anyone?) and set out walking in the Park Ave area. The restaurant is quaint and well decorated (on the dark and romantic side of things). We were the only couple in there for the majority of our dinner. This was surprising because we thought it was great! We had the lamb vindaloo and the butter chicken (definite winner in my book), naan, and samosas -- still needed to fill up 50$ so added mango lassis to finish it off. Butter chicken was fantastic -- perfectly spiced. Lamb vindaloo was ok to me -- a bit watery on the flavor, maybe because of the contrast with my butter chicken. Samosas were great and hot. Mango lassis were just standard. For the price, it was fantastic (it was great before the Groupon) and portions were very large! The staff was good, but confusing. I couldn't figure out who was our waiter because I think 4 people served us. Maybe because it was so empty? They have Sunday brunch for 16$ which looks fantastic. Will be back for that really soon with family in tow!

This tiny space off of Hannibal square is owned by the people behind Saffron on Sand Lake Road, but it has better food and service. We started with papadums and garlic naan bread. The papadums were more delicate than most, served with two chutneys, mint and tamarind. The garlic naan was particularly good, very thin and a bit crisp in the center, with lots of garlic. Next we shared the tandoori platter, a combination of chicken, lamb, shrimp and sausage. All were very good although not remarkable. We finished with an order of butter chicken, which was extremely flavorful, a bit more complex and slightly less rich than some versions. Service was very attentive. There seemed to be more servers than patrons, although I guess Saturday lunch is slow. Although we didn't take advantage of it, there is a superb lunch deal, with a full meal for just about $10. Many of the dishes on the menu are not names I'm familiar with from the other Indian restaurants I've been too, so I'm looking forward to returning and trying some new things.

Located across from Dexter's Winter Park, in Hannibal Square, this compact Indian restaurant offers big, delicious flavors. If the weather is nice, enjoy your meal outside and soak up the beautiful day and nice ambiance this corner of New England Avenue offers. Service was warm and welcoming, we asked for a few recommendations and awaited our lunch. Lunches are delivered in the traditional tiffin (lunch pail), which is unlatched by your server. Each layer holds a course, the samosa and sauces on the first layer, followed by lentil soup, then rice and the entree. Dessert was brought out after and this delicious & filling meal was enjoyed for under $12. Everything I tasted had me eager for the next bite. I'm looking forward to returning for brunch where a table side buffet is offered. So, lots of stuff brought to the table. (Let your server know of any dietary restrictions or allergies and they will accommodate.) Also includes a glass of champange for just $16. The regular dinner and lunch menu are quite extensive, so there should be something for everyone. Looking forward to my next visit!

Soooo good! And service is also top notch. Our hostess and waiter were both friendly and spot on. The decor is chic and modern and yet welcoming and the meal was delicious. Had the mixed tandoori grill and the king prawn masala on Saturday and had to come back again that week for take out because I needed more! My only complaint is that due to the size of the place the tables are pretty close together upstairs and if can feel cramped, but that won't stop me from coming back again and again. Looking forward to their Sunday brunch for only $16.00. I would suggest reservations on weekends because it can fill up pretty fast, though you'd probably be fine walking in on a weekday.

I was encouraged by the pleasant decor and by the attentive service. The experience fell apart when the entrees arrived. The Tandoori mushrooms were passable, but not a great presentation. The Bindi was plagued by very poor quality produce. There are many varieties of okra - this dish used tiny, fibrous, chewy, poor quality okra that could not be cut with a table knife. Finally, the Curry Halibut used very small filet sections (was it really halibut?) that were carefully burned on each bottom side. Although served in a good sauce, the fish couldn't be cut with a table knife either. I'll skip the ambiance and eat great Indian food at small, unpretentious local places.

Mynt deserves every one of these five stars. This little gem is located on quaint and picturesque New England Ave. in Hannibal Square. The restaurant seems small when you first step in, but there's a full bar and more seating upstairs. The service was fantastic. Our server Naresh was great! Everything I tried was delicious! utthapam sliders were fun, and accompanying sambar was some of the best I've ever had. Each piece of meat in the tandoori variety platter was succulent; seasoned and grilled perfectly. The lamb biryani, it is the best in Orlando. And this is coming from a self-proclaimed biryani aficionado. It is really that good. I wanted the butter chicken, but my friend needed something with zero heat. So lamb passanda it was. It was served with plain basmati rice. Also very good. All the food can taste amazing. But the true test of an Indian restaurant lies in its rice and naan preparation. And Mynt passed both tests with flying colors. They serve wonderfully fragrant long-grain basmati rice, and delicious naan the remained soft even until the end of my meal. Both cooked to perfection. In my opinion, Mynt, the sister restaurant to Saffron on restaurant row in Dr. Phillips, outshines it sibling.

The best Indian in town ! With two British curry snobs in tow, this was and all around amazing experience! My tikka masala was something out of a dream! Best I've ever had by a long shot. The chef impressed us all by making an Indian dish off memory and off the menu for the Brits and they loved every bite !

Date night with my hubby. Overall experience was good. The lamb samosa appetizer and butter chicken and cauliflower dish was delicious. The tandoori lamb chop was dry and gritty. Service was spotty. couple recommendations on the service side: offer to box the left over for the guests and clear the table when guests are done eating, it's very little effort but goes a long way for the dining experience.

If you're an Indian food fan Mynt is the place for you -- holy deliciousness! From the hot, fresh naan to the jasmine rice & various entree options, this place does not disappoint! Out of all the Indian restaurants I've been to in the area (& I've been to a lot, I'm obsessed with Indian food) Mynt is by far my favorite. Why? I'm so glad you asked... For starters, their red lentil Dal is the stuff dreams are made of. I'm serious. Everyone at my table had a taste & were quickly asking me to have more, which of course I denied because hey, this is my Dal people! If you're a vegetarian Mynt has you covered by labeling all vegetarian options, plus most Indian dishes tend to be very vegetarian friendly. My friends enjoyed meat dishes they ooh'd & aah'd about, I'm taking their word for it, everything at Mynt was delicious. Plus, the location is great, the restaurant is very cute & clean & the staff is super friendly, we had incredible service. All this to say that if you haven't been to Mynt you're missing out & you should go. Order the Dal, then make sure to let me know how much you loved it. Enjoy!

Very nice addition to Winter Park. The space is small, but the upstairs adds additional space and more private dining. Papadum was complimentary. We ordered several dishes to share among a group and everything was great. My only issue is that I felt the portions were small and did not have a lot of protein for the price (one person described them as soupy or stewy). As a heads up they do not have a full bar, only beer and wine.

I acually want to rate this 3.75 stars. Close to a 4 but chose to take a few points off for some minor issues. Decor/Ambiance - 3.75 stars. Definitely the best looking Indian restaurant in all of Orlando/Winter Park/Lake Mary but the tables were extremely close together and we felt like we could hear everyone's conversation without even trying. I guess the close proximity of tables would be fine if we were in NYC, but we weren't so it made it just a little uncomfortable. I could barely slide into my seat without ramming the girl behind me and once I sat down, I didn't dare move the rest of the night. Service - 3.75 stars. Our server was fine, she was friendly, polite, and decently attentive. But our food came out slow. Although we were quickly served the rice chips and dipping sauces, our appetizers took awhile to come out and our entrees took even longer. I suspect we didn't get served our entrees until almost 40 minutes after we ordered them. Food - 4 stars. The complimentary rice chips and dipping sauces were fun to eat and a good start since we were starving. The rice chips are more of an Asian thing so it was weird to have them served in an Indian restaurant but they went well with the sauces and the sauces tasted freshly made so we were happy with those. We ordered the scallops and garlic naan for our apps. The scallops were small in size and there were only 6 of them but they were very tasty. The garlic naan was perfect and both of those items were devoured. For our entrees, I ordered the Chicken Xacuti (my usual favorite indian dish) as spicy and my husband ordered the Butter Chicken as mild since that is usually almost ALWAYS good anywhere you get it. The Chicken Xacuti was ok and not as good as Memories of India in Lake Mary. They make it the best there so any time I order it somewhere else, I always compare it to theirs. It had a nice flavor but it wasn't that spicy at all and the chicken was a tiny bit dry. The butter chicken was the clear winner here and my husband and I both agreed it was the best butter chicken we've had compared to Memories of India, both Tamarind locations, and Moghul Fine Indian Cuisine. Both were served with jasmine rice but theirs had peas and carrots in it like Chinese fried rice so that was different but still tasted good. All in all we were pleased with our food and experience. It was a good date night since the place was beautiful, dimly lit and the food was delish but would maybe go again on a less busy night to have more room around us and maybe get our food quicker.

First of all, let me start by saying I am not very experienced in Indian cuisine. I know a little about the various spices used in Indian cooking but I am not well versed at the difference between tandoori, masala and gobi. Lucky for me, I had lunch with a friend who is conversant in Indian cuisine. Lisa, who writes over at TasteCookSip, met me at a restaurant in Winter Park called Mynt Fine Indian Cuisine. Mynt opened only a few months ago among the hustle and bustle of downtown Winter Park. In reality, the only thing I knew was that paneer is an Indian cheese dish. It was the only thing I recognized on the lunch menu and the Paneer Makhanwala came highly recommended from our server. As Lisa was deciding between the Dum Aloo Gobi and the Amritsari Chloe, we decided to go all in and order all three dishes. Each of our lunch selections was served in a Tiffin, a traditional Indian lunch box. A Tiffin is stacked in layers and each layer contained something different. The bottom layer had the appetizer- a Dehli Samosa. A samosa is a spiced potato turnover. Served with a tamarind chutney and a fresh mint dipping sauce, it was not only tasty, but it was crispy and hearty. While the lunches only came with one samosa, I could see myself eating an entire order of these. Another layer of the Tiffin had Dal, a traditional lentil, pea or bean soup. I was reminded of a thick curry stew, slightly spicy. There was a third layer with white rice and the final layer contained our entrees. First up was the Paneer Makahnwala- the cheese dish. Indian cheese was stewed in a soupy mix of what is traditionally onions, tomatoes, ginger, cashews, garlic, cinnamon and cardamom. While the dish had a wonderful flavor, I found myself fishing in the sauce to find the paneer. Next up was the Dum Aloo Gobi- a traditional dish with potatoes and cauliflower in a spicy sauce. The interesting stereotype I associate with Indian cuisine is very spicy, however, the potatoes and cauliflower were seasoned perfectly. There was enough heat to alert my senses but not enough to drown out the main ingredients of the dish. And last, we enjoyed the Amritsari Chloe- chickpeas in a tomato and onion sauce. This was probably my most favorite dish of the three. There was a slight sweetness to this and according to the menu there is pomegranate added here. Finally, dessert was also included in the lunches and we were presented with Gulab Jamoon. A single dough mix of milk solids, this didn't burst with flavor but it was very good. After so much flavor in all the entrees, the Gulab Jamoon was refreshing. I couldn't quite place the sauce it was rested in- a sort of watery-honey syrup. I enjoyed Mynt quite a bit and feel a little more comfortable ordering in an Indian restaurant. While Chad is not a big fan of Indian cuisine, I feel there is enough variety here for anyone to find something perfect. The staff was incredibly helpful in assisting us with our questions.

I'm a huge fan of Indian food...and was really looking forward to trying out Mynt with some of my friends. I was a little apprehensive at the prices on the menu I saw online but still wanted to give it a shot. I'm always hungry for Indian! :) I made reservations for 4 of us for dinner. The space is small/intimate and comfortable with nice mood lighting. Very modern and white. There seems to be an upstairs area too, as we saw many people coming and going through a staircase. Our waitress answered all our questions promptly...but seemed to lack the warmth and friendliness that you would expect near Park Avenue. The manager checked on us which was nice. The table had "chips and salsa" on the table, which was papad and two dipping sauces...and I found that very creative! Great way to introduce papad and the sauces to first-time Indian diners, even though we were not. I wondered whether the restaurant's menu may have been catered more to the "first timers" of Indian cuisine, and by looking at it...it was fairly well diversified. Nice tandoori options, masalas, etc. Most of my family and friends enjoys the Chicken Vindaloo mild, which is very similar to a Tikka Masala. The restaurant only had a lamb vindaloo...so I settled for the chicken tikka....at $19. It's definitely twice the price of a typical lunch dish, but I figured it was either a very good amount of food or it had exceptional flavor. Neither was really the case. The chicken came in a really cool diagonal bowl, and I shared a side of rice with someone else. The amount of chicken in the bowl was probably the amount of one chicken breast...and the flavor was fairly traditional. So in summary...I may come back for lunch, but probably not dinner. I really can't justify paying $20 for a lunch-sized dish that tastes no different than any other Indian restaurant. It wasn't bad food at all, just not memorable food. I'd rather spend $20 for a spectacularly-flavored dish that I will rave about to friends and can't really get anywhere else.

Delicious and only $16 for the Sunday brunch deal, score! Table side buffet, you are one gorgeous beast! Had Indian about a week ago and couldn't stop craving it. Wanted to try this new spot out so we biked over this afternoon. It's brand new in Hannibal Square and a welcomes addition. We were offered the Sunday brunch right when sat down and when they started naming everything included, I just said yes for the whole table. No one was disappointed. We didn't even ask the price so when the check came, we were all in a happy shock. Check out what we feasted on: - A glass of Champagne to start, yes! - Coriander Soup - it was so light and full of flavor. It was the perfect pallet prep. - Then we had some fried onions fritters, no idea what the name is and I can't find it on the regular menu. The dips they put on the table were a perfect pair for these as well. These were addicting - For the main course, Naan and Jeera Rice accompanied with four dishes: - Mynt Paneer - Fresh cottage cheese marinated in Yogurt, Fresh mint, and Garam Masala - Old Delhi Butter Chicken - Julienne chicken served over creamy, Tomato, and Butter sauce - Tandoori Chicken pair - full of flavor and cooked well but not overdone - Dum Aloo Globi - Potatoes and Cauliflower simmered in onion tomato paste - Dessert: Gulab Jamoon and Mango Pannacotta Yes, two tastes of desserts and they were both delicious and together they sang in a heavenly melody. YES PEOPLE, all of this spread for $16 - it was amazing. The service was great and it wasn't too busy. Of course, after everyone learns of this awesome spot it will be so get there now to check it out. There is outside seating, a few tables inside and an upstairs. Love the decor, especially the classy and comfy white chairs! Go now!
